The entrance asks you to confirm your country of residence and that you are of legal smoking
age. This is a self-declaration. It is stored only in your browser under the key
aurum-age-verified, together with aurum-country. It is not verified
against an identity document, payment instrument or third-party age-assurance service, and it
can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Regulated tobacco sales require independent age assurance and adult-signature delivery. Neither is implemented in this demonstration.
The cart, checkout request, trade application, newsletter signup and lot verification are browser-side simulations. Nothing is transmitted to a server, no payment is collected, no stock is reserved and no confirmation email is sent. The reference numbers shown after a simulated checkout or trade application are generated locally and have no legal effect.
Because no products are sold, no shipping, customs clearance or returns process exists. Statements about insured delivery, duties and adult signature describe the intended commercial model, not a service currently offered.
The demonstration does not collect or transmit personal data. It stores four values in your browser's local storage:
aurum-age-verified — whether you confirmed the age gate on this device.aurum-country — the country selected at the entrance.aurum-cart — the product identifiers and quantities in your selection.aurum-searches — up to five recent search terms you chose to open.No advertising, error-reporting or session-recording service is loaded. On the production hostname the site also loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless aggregate measurement service that reports page views without setting cookies or storing personal identifiers. Email links open your own mail client; messages are sent by you, not by the site. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and loads its scroll film from a public Cloudflare R2 bucket, so those providers see ordinary request metadata such as IP address and user agent.
This site is provided for design review and demonstration. Nothing on it constitutes an offer for sale, a contract, a licence or professional advice. Product names, lots, prices and provenance records are illustrative. Any future commercial operation would require separate terms of sale, regulatory licences and jurisdiction-specific tobacco compliance.
The interface targets WCAG 2.1 AA: it supports keyboard navigation, focus traps in dialogs, visible focus indicators, reduced-motion preferences, 44px mobile touch targets and 16px form fields. Known gaps: some dense desktop labels remain below 11px, and the experience has not yet been tested with a manual screen-reader pass or on physical iOS hardware.
